Sobriety 101

There's something about a hundred of something. It feels so....hundred-y. So....solid. So....a lot.

So....impossible.

A hundred days? Like, no way. I couldn't make it more than three or maybe five. Seven days? Why bother. Thirty days? Well, you might as well tie me up and put me under the bed. Drop me off in the middle of the Sahara. Super glue my lips closed. Throw away the key. A hundred days? I must be pregnant. Or dead.

But look! Here I am- neither pregnant, nor dead! And one hundred and one days sober today!

  1. I can't tell you how bloody happy I am to hear that! CONGRATS!!!

100 days...no kidding...I couldn't even imagine 100 hours, 100 minutes...let alone 100 days...and then they keep adding up and up and before you know it, it's a year, then on and on...

It's been a pleasure reading your blog, and watching the subtle changes and not so subtle shifts in your thoughts and words. And inspiring words for everyone.

Enjoy your 100th drink-free day - this just made MY day :)

    Blessings,
    Paul

    1. High five high five! 50 was a big turning point for me. It felt more 'permanent' at that point. I felt more used to being sober. Keep right on with those surprises! :)

  7. Hi Amy!
So.....it looks like we have a lot in common. I, too, am a married mother of one son. I love to read, write, nap and cook. I have really enjoyed reading your blog. So much of what you write really resonates with me, especially the parts of sober evenings with your sons. Oh, my sober date is December 1, 2012, and my name is Amy. Congratulations on 100 days! Keep it up! And keep up the blog! I love it!

  11. I don't know how I missed this post the first time around but I just wanted to say a gigantic HAPPY DANCE WITH GLITTERLY UNICORNS for you.

100 days? 100 DAYS! That is amazing lady. And look at how you've grown and blossomed in that time. I want to hear more about how 100d days feel and I also want to be you when I grown up... which will hopefully be in about 88 days from now... ;)

Lots and lots of love and squeezes,

    Lilly xoxo
